Michigan's Bavarian-themed town of Frankenmuth stages its Oktoberfest in Heritage Park along the Cass River, in a Munich-style festhall setting. The four-day event opens with an official keg tapping on Thursday evening and runs on a rotating lineup of polka bands, German food and Hofbrauhaus Oktoberfest beer. Saturday's wiener dog races are a crowd favorite, and admission is a flat low daily rate with children admitted free.
