A three-day German heritage street festival staged each October on Fredericksburg's Marktplatz in the Texas Hill Country. Founded in 1981 by the Pedernales Creative Arts Alliance, which channels the proceeds into local arts scholarships and community projects, it now spreads live polka, brass and dance music across five stages. Weekend traditions include an opening tuba gathering, a mass chicken dance, a brewer-led keg tapping, stein hoisting and a domino tournament, alongside a Kinder Park built for younger visitors.
